"Kids in the Kitchen: Chopped Style Contest" is an educational experience for young chefs in 4-H, blending culinary skills, creativity, and an appreciation for locally sourced ingredients in a fun and competitive setting. Participants will explore a farmers’ market, learn about fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and engage in a Chopped-style contest where they must transform a given item into a delicious dish. Kids will work in teams of 3-4, encouraging collaboration, communication, and shared responsibility as they navigate the farmers market, make culinary decisions, and cook together. Kids can sign up as a team or individually and will be placed on a team.
